Orange Blossom Mimosa Pitcher

Everyone expects a mimosa at brunch, and the best one is also the simplest: fresh juice and cold, dry bubbles in equal measure. A few drops of orange blossom water lift it into something that tastes more orange than orange juice. For the guest who is not drinking, swap the wine for sparkling white grape juice or sparkling water.

What you'll need

  • 3 cups fresh orange juice, pulp strained, well chilled (720 ml)
  • 0.25 tsp orange blossom water
  • 1 bottle dry sparkling wine, well chilled, or 3 cups sparkling white grape juice or sparkling water (750 ml)
  • orange twists

How to make it

  1. Stir the orange blossom water into the juice and chill thoroughly.

  2. Fill each flute about halfway with the juice.

  3. Slowly top with the sparkling wine or the alcohol-free fizz and add a twist.

  4. Glass: Champagne flutes. Garnish: A thin orange twist.

Chef's secrets

Use a dry sparkling wine; sweet ones make it cloying.

Pour the juice first, then the bubbles, so the fizz mixes itself.

Make ahead

Squeeze the juice the night before and keep it chilled.
